Why Join?

Sisterhood

One of the greatest advantages of becoming a part of Greek Life is the sisterhood that links you to the other members of your chapter. These lifelong friendships create numerous possibilities for the future with networking and social interaction as well as contributing to your personal growth while here at Drexel. The friends you make both within your own sorority and within other sororities are ones that will last a lifetime.

Leadership & Netwoking

Being a member of the Panhellenic community provides you with many opportunities to take on leadership roles both within your own sorority and outside it. Your time management, communication, and interpersonal skills are all strengthened by leadership positions.

Networking is another great benefit of Greek Life. You meet many different kinds of people both in the community and professionals outside it. Any one of these people may provide you with the connection to a great opportunity for your future.

Community Service & Philanthropy

Greeks at Drexel give their time, effort, and money to benefit others. Each sorority hosts events for their chosen national philanthropy throughout the year. Sororities at Drexel also participate in many different kinds of community service events each term. The Panhellenic Council sponsors events in both areas of philanthropy & community service that allow the entire community to come together for a good cause. Please see our Philanthropy section of the website for more information regarding PHC Philanthropy.

Scholarship

The Panhellenic community recognizes that academics come first and all five sororities have scholarship chairs that specifically work to maintain and improve their chapter's academics. The Panhelllenic Council requires that all women wishing to enter Recruitment have a 2.5 GPA and that is the minimum for most chapter members as well. The Panhellenic Council recognizes members that achieve both Dean's List and 4.0 each term. You can ask each sorority about their academic plans as well as scholarships available through their national organizations! Please see our Scholarship section for more infromation about PHC Scholarship.

Social Development

While sororities at Drexel offer amazing opportunities in academics, community service, and leadership...the Greek experience also enables its members to develop a fulfilling social life. Through joining a sorority, you can achieve a proper balance between social and academic values and activities. The Greek community gives its memebrs the chance to meet different people and develop strong, lasting relationships. These bonds are created and strengthened through a wide range of social activities such as social dinners, formals, all greek events, Night on the Row, IFC football and PHC powderpuff games, movie nights, and of course, Greek Week!
